OPERATIONS MANAGER
Full-Time — Entry-Level / Recent Graduate · Based in Logan, UT, with regular travel to franchise locations
-
Salad Spot is a fast-growing, fast-casual salad and bowl concept built around fresh, made-to-order food and a rotating menu of new monthly flavors. We're expanding through franchising across multiple states, and we're building the systems and team that will let us scale efficiently while keeping every location consistent, cost-disciplined, and true to the brand. This is a ground-floor opportunity to help shape how a growing franchise system runs.
-
We're hiring an Operations Manager to help Salad Spot run leaner, smarter, and more consistently as we grow. Store-level ordering, inventory counts, and day-to-day execution are owned by our store managers — the Operations Manager works alongside them to optimize those processes, manage costs, and build the systems that let us repeat our success across every current and future franchise location. This role also plays a key part in supporting our franchisees, from onboarding and training to fee collection, and in managing the vendor and technology relationships that keep the business running smoothly.
This is an excellent launching-pad role for a detail-oriented recent graduate (or someone finishing a degree in the next several months) who wants hands-on exposure to franchise operations, finance, and process improvement, with real room to grow as Salad Spot expands.
-
Operations, Cost, & Inventory
Partner with store managers to optimize ordering, inventory, and day-to-day processes — without taking over their core responsibilities.
Oversee inventory management for packaging supplies across company and franchise locations, ensuring adequate stock and prompt, well-timed ordering.
Monitor and manage food costs, assist store managers with ordering decisions, and drive our COGS percentage toward target.
Identify opportunities to make operations more efficient and repeatable across a growing number of franchise locations.
Supplier & Vendor Relations
Manage day-to-day relationships with core suppliers (e.g., Sysco, Nicholas & Co.), ensuring Salad Spot meets contract terms and holding suppliers accountable to their commitments.
Technology & Systems
Own and manage Salad Spot's core technology and software systems, including our point-of-sale platform (Square), website, and online food-ordering tools.
Troubleshoot system configuration issues before they become costly (e.g., verifying tax and pricing setup is correct).
Keep the website updated each month with the assets and information needed for new monthly menu items.
Administer ExpandShare, our learning management system, ensuring managers and team members have the training content and tools they need.
Training & Documentation
Refine and maintain the franchise operating manual, including training materials and fee structures.
Support the design and rollout of training programs for store managers, franchisees, and their teams.
Franchisee & Financial Support
Assist in invoicing and collecting fees from franchisees and from the corporate location.
Manage accounts receivable collections from catering customers, and help tighten our collections process to reduce outstanding balances.
Provide operational support to Salad Spot's catering initiative as it grows.
-
Bachelor's degree completed or nearing completion (within the last several months) in business, operations, hospitality management, finance, or a related field.
Highly detail-oriented and conscientious, with strong follow-through on complex, multi-part projects.
A natural problem-solver who enjoys finding more efficient ways to do things.
Cost-conscious mindset and comfort working with numbers, budgets, and spreadsheets.
Genuine interest in building repeatable systems and processes that can scale across a growing number of locations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for working with suppliers, franchisees, and store teams.
Comfortable managing several workstreams at once and adapting as priorities shift.
Experience with point-of-sale systems (e.g., Square), inventory/food-cost software, or learning management systems is a plus, but not required.
Willingness to travel periodically to franchise and store locations.
-
Based in Logan, Utah (where our roots are!) - you'll get broad, hands-on exposure to nearly every part of how a franchise business runs — operations, finance, technology, training, and franchisee relations — with direct mentorship from company leadership and the opportunity to grow with us as we open new locations.
Reports to: Salad Spot Leadership
Location: Logan, UT (Salad Spot company location), with travel to franchise locations as the network grows
